An announcement made during Tuesday evening's Knoxville City Council meeting confirmed what had been discussed for months. Retailer Urban Outfitters will soon open a store in Knoxville.
Knoxville officials say they expect the modern clothing store to open in spring 2013.
The Knoxville City Council approved an amended budget for fiscal year 2012 and 2013 to included a $250,000 incentive to bring the retail chain to the city.
The incentive will go towards Arnstein Partners, owners of the Arnstein Building where the retail chain will set up shop on the second and third floors. The fourth floor will be used for residential development.
Officials said Urban Outfitters will add 56 jobs, with six managers, 30 full-time employees and 20 seasonal employees.
