Strong board guides East Tennessee Economic Development Agency

The East Tennessee Economic Development Agency (ETEDA) has elected six new Board members...
The East Tennessee Economic Development Agency (ETEDA) has elected six new Board members to help guide its efforts to market the combined assets of the 16-county Knoxville-Oak Ridge Innovation Valley region and recruit businesses.
"We are so fortunate to have such strong leadership in this region," said Mintha Roach, ETEDA Chair and president and CEO of the Knoxville Utilities Board. "It's individuals like these who can really make a difference as we market our 16-county region to businesses from all over the country."
New board members include:
Loren Crabtree, chancellor, University of Tennessee –Knoxville Campus
Joe Landsman, president & CEO, University Health System
John McKittrick, president & CEO, ORNL Federal Credit Union
Michael McNamee, area executive, AmSouth
Louis Moore, regional president, BB&T
Mike Ragsdale, Knox County mayor
Agreeing to serve additional three-year terms on the Board are Lee Iglehart, executive vice president, Fountain Leasing, and Tony Spezia, president and CEO, Covenant Health.
ETEDA partners with local, state and TVA economic developers, providing a single point of contact for companies. ETEDA's team approach is considered a model for regional economic development efforts.
"These partnerships are our greatest strength," said Allen Neel, ETEDA president & CEO. "By working together, ETEDA and its partners can market the region's full range of labor, infrastructure and intellectual assets. This helps makes the region competitive."
ETEDA's service area includes Anderson, Blount, Campbell, Claiborne, Cocke, Grainger, Jefferson, Knox, Loudon, McMinn, Monroe, Morgan, Roane, Scott, Sevier and Union counties.
