Maryville CollegeLocated at the foothills of the beautiful Smoky Mountains National Park and  home to Pellissippi Place, a unique mixed-use community with a focus on technology R&D, Blount County, Tennessee is a place of unique contrasts.

Known as the peaceful side of the Smokies, Blount County offers a multitude of leisure activities from golfing, hiking, bicycling, tubing and canoeing, fishing, horseback-riding, camping, and picnicking to shopping for arts and crafts and enjoying music concerts and festivals.

The recently opened Clayton Center for the Arts, a 136,000-square-foot, $47.3 million complex includes three theater spaces and three art galleries. Along with its great quality of life, Blount County has historically focused on quality growth, a dedicated and educated workforce, excellent industrial sites and great infrastructure.  This attention to creating a positive business climate is why companies such as Marriott, DENSO Manufacturing Tennessee, Inc., Alcoa, Inc.  Blount County, Sanford Brands, Cermaspeed, USi, and U.S. Foodservice have chosen to locate in Blount County.

Located in close proximity to Knoxville, Blount County is home to McGhee Tyson Airport, a major regional airport serving the metropolitan Knoxville area with 120 flights per day and 20 non-stop destinations by five major airlines.

The 12th oldest institution of higher learning in the South and known for its academic rigor Maryville College, a private liberal arts college of about 1000 with several buildings on the National Register of Historic Places, is located in downtown Maryville.  Also located in Maryville is a satellite campus of Pellissippi State Technical Community College which offers 8 areas of study and 23 majors.
