UT Cherokee Farm unveils new name and logo

The University of Tennessee Cherokee Farm Innovation Campus has unveiled a new name and logo for the research park.

It will now be called the University of Tennessee Research Park at Cherokee Farm, and will continue to be associated with the UT Knoxville campus, according to a news release from the university.

“Our new name emphasizes the cutting- edge and diverse research that occurs here,” Cliff Hawks, president and CEO of Cherokee Farm Development Corporation, said in the release.

“It also maintains a connection to our roots as Cherokee Farm, though our present and future reach goes far beyond just agriculture.”

The research park is a collaborative effort between UT and Oak Ridge National Laboratory.

It is the first research park in the United States to have a “world-class materials science research facility for its tenants,” the Joint Institute for Advanced Materials, according to the release.

The park combines the resources of UT, ORNL and researchers to “provide access to some of the most powerful tools available in materials science and high-performance computing,” according to the release.
