The Island in Pigeon Forge ranked 6th best amusement park in nation
The Island in Pigeon Forge was ranked the sixth best amusement park in the United States, according to TripAdvisor. The Track, another popular park in Pigeon Forge, was ranked 23rd best park in the United States.
In the world rankings, The Island was ranked as the ninth best park.
The Island beat out other popular amusement parks such as Disneyland Park in Anaheim, California and SeaWorld in Orlando, Florida.
"The Island is honored to be featured on this list alongside such reputable and established companies in our industry," said Caitlin Gouge, the communications director at The Island. "We are only five years old, and to be considered for this list is such an honor for us!"
According to Gouge, TripAdvisor compiled the list based on the quality and quantity of reviews that amusement parks received.
"Our goal is to be a place where friends and families can make memories with each other, and we are happy to know we are accomplishing that and hope to continue being an oasis in the Smoky Mountains for years to come," said Gouge.
The Island has an average TripAdvisor traveler rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars and more than 8,400 reviews.
The Island in Pigeon Forge offers entertainment for the entire family. The 23-acre entertainment destination has retail stores, restaurants, live music and a 200-foot observation ferris wheel for great views of the Great Smoky Mountains.
