Haslam Executive MBA Ranked #1 Worldwide for Program Relevance

The Haslam College of Business Executive MBA program at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, ranks seventh among public universities nationwide, according to the 2018 Economist WhichMBA ranking. The magazine’s third bi-annual Executive MBA ranking, released rates Haslam’s Executive MBA as 23rd in the world and 14th among all U.S. programs.

“Seeing the Haslam Executive MBA enter the Economist WhichMBA ranking at No. 23 is exciting, but we are especially pleased with the No. 1 ranking by students for program relevance,” says Bruce Behn, associate dean for graduate and executive education at the college. “The faculty and program staff take great pride in delivering a curriculum that is truly transformational for our students, as we want to help them grow professionally and succeed in their careers. This latest ranking is a welcome affirmation of the extraordinary value to students that our programs deliver.”

The Economist collected data for the ranking using two web-based questionnaires. The first was completed by business schools and included details and statistics related to students, alumni, program curriculum and faculty. Current students and recent alumni completed the second questionnaire, providing evaluations of their personal experiences in the program and information about their individual career progressions. Final placements rely on data from both surveys.

In addition to the overall ranking, Haslam’s Executive MBA received top 10 marks on nine different sub-category measures. These include: No. 1 for student ranking of program relevance; No. 2 for overall quality of students; No. 4 for student rating of faculty and for pre-MBA salary of students; No. 5 for overall level of work experience of students; No. 6 for quality of the faculty and for the professional development and educational experience category; and No. 7 for student rating of teaching quality and for post-MBA salary.

The Haslam Executive MBA includes specialties in Global Supply Chain, Health Care Leadership and Strategic Leadership. The college also offers a Physician Executive MBA, an Aerospace & Defense MBA and a Professional MBA as well as open enrollment and custom executive education programs for industry, all tailored to the unique needs of working professionals. Haslam’s custom executive education programs, which supplement the college’s Executive MBA offerings, are ranked third among U.S. public universities and No. 28 worldwide by the Financial Times.
