Knoxville area businesses receive 'South's Best' awards
Southern Living magazine recently announced its "South's Best Awards" with three East Tennessee businesses placing in multiple categories.
Knoxville’s J.C. Holdway restaurant took seventh place in the "South's Top 10 Best Restaurants" category. The eatery is owned by James Beard Award winning chef Joseph Lenn, who previously served as executive chef for The Barn at Blackberry Farm.
The Barn at Blackberry Farm, in Walland, placed third for South's best restaurant, placed fourth for South's best dessert and was the winner of "South's Best Restaurant in Every State" for Tennessee.
The Walland resort also took top honors in the "South's Best Resorts" category.
The Tennessean Hotel in Knoxville, took the award for "South's Best Hotel."
The South’s Best list is determined by votes from Southern Living’s readers on what they think are the South’s best places — collected through a crowd-sourced digital survey, according to a news release.
