Cocke County
Situated on Interstate 40, which stretches between North Carolina and California, and just 9 miles from Interstate 81, which extends from East Tennessee to the Canadian border, Cocke County, TN is within one day's drive of 70 percent of the U.S. market. Known as the gateway to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the nation’s most visited park, Cocke County is ideally located in East Tennessee.
Cocke County is an area rich in tradition and history, yet offers a superb place for business and industry. With electricity provided by TVA, the nation’s most reliable provider, abundant water, access to two of the major interstates in the Eastern US, a trained workforce, low unionization and workers compensation rates, Cocke County has a very competitive business environment.
Manufacturing, including industries such as plastic injection molding, furniture and fixtures, marine products distribution and chemical intermediates, is the major business sector in Cocke County with recreation, accommodation and food services a close second.
Adjacent to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park with access to the Appalachian Trail and home to both a state and national forest and three recreational rivers, Cocke County offers excellent venues for whitewater rafting, boating, fishing, hiking, biking, hunting, horseback riding and birding.
